Kenya Wildlife Service is honored to put in the work to save our wildlife, but we don’t do it alone! Our ambassadors and the contributions we receive help create invaluable partnerships so we can support various conservation and community projects. Watch some of our project videos below to learn more.
Inua Dada Community Project
Inua Dada in Swahili means to ‘Raise a Sister Up’. We partnered with this female-empowering initiative to enable women from nearby Maasai communities sell their beautiful, beaded art and jewelry around the national parks and within hotels.
Community Conservancy
There is a continued scramble for space between wildlife and humans around reserve areas. That’s why it is extremely important for the animals and communities to live in harmony. We work with local communities to recruit and train rangers who already live and know the land in conservancy who in turn help educate others.
Collaring Technology
Kenya Wildlife Service has invested in collar technology: gadgets used to track of the movement of crop-raiding wildlife like elephants. When elephants raid crop fields, they can be troublesome to the humans in those areas. The collars help rangers keep track of the elephants to reduce this animal-human conflict
